  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tsps. vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

  • 3 cups apple cider (reduced to 1 1/2 cups)

  • 3 tsps. baking powder

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 tsps. cinnamon

  • 2 tsps. nutmeg

  • pinch salt

How To:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray and set aside.

  3. Reduce 3 cups of apple cider by pouring it into a small saucepan and simmering it on low-medium heat for 15-20 minutes.

  4. Set aside to cool.

  5. Stir together 2 1/2 cups of flour, 3tsps. of baking powder, pinch of salt, 3 tsps. of cinnamon, and 2 tsps of nutmeg together in a large bowl.

  6. In a different bowl, mix the 10 Tbs. of melted butter, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup dark brown sugar until the mixture is smooth.

  7. Add in the 2 eggs, 2 tsps. of vanilla and stir until combined.

  8. Pour in the 3/4 cups of buttermilk and 1 1/2 cups reduced apple cider until combined.

  9. Slowly stir in the flour mixture with the liquid mixture until incorporated.

  10. Pour batter into a piping bag or ziploc bag to pipe in the batter to your donut pan.

  11. Bake 14-15 minutes or until the tops of the donuts are firm and springy.

  12. Let donuts cool for 5 minutes then remove them from the pan.

  13. While your donuts are cooling, melt 6 Tbs. of butter in a small bowl. In another bowl mix together 2 tsps. of cinnamon with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.

  14. Once your donuts won’t burn your finger tips off dip them into the melted butter then into the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

  15. Voila! Apple cider donuts ready for you and your favorite people.

Words:

I Know all of these food blogs talk about their lives and how their kid has a fever and all this before they give you recipes but I just really hate that. I don’t like having to wade through text to find a recipe so, I’m not doing that! Not at the top of the blog anyway. I do have something small to say about this donuts recipe. It is my freaking favorite thing and everyone loves me every time I take these donuts anywhere. So be prepared to be everyone’s favorite person. Bake on people, bake on.
